I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Bowling Green State University and a Masters in Counseling from Youngstown State University. I began my teaching career at The Rayen School where I taught integrated and environmental sciences. Upon receiving my master's degree, I was a guidance counselor at Ursuline High School prior to coming to Struthers. I have been a counselor at Struthers for 18 years.
My second year as a counselor here, I began the peer mediation program which is still an active organization at the high school. During the 2007-08 school year, I began the service learning program at Struthers High School. This has been very rewarding for me to see the students who take the class work with both the young and the elderly in our community.
I am looking forward to bringing back the Medical Careers Club for the 2010-11 school year. It will help the students who are going into medically related fields get some ideas of the wide array of opportunities available to them.
