Who is the elementary counselor?

The Elementary Counselor is a professional in the school and is available to help students, parents, and teachers develop positive learning experiences.

 

What is my role as the guidance counselor?

. empower children to reach their full potential and build self-confidence

. offer support for all academic, emotional and social needs

. help children make good choices and accept responsibility for their actions

. offer support to families

. promote tolerance

. promote the acceptance of all

. make referrals

. provide academic support to students and staff

. work with staff and students on goal setting and decision making

. coordinate Building Assistance Team and Intervention Assistance Team meetings

. help students and staff with problem solving and conflict resolution

. promote career awareness

. coordinate all diagnostic and achievement testing
