WELCOME TO THE SES PTA
Dear SES family,
We wanted to make you aware of some of the activities the PTA is working on for the 2011-2012 school year. The PTA board for 2011-2012 is as follows: Sheila Laws - President, Kim Close & Heather MacDonald - Vice Presidents, Amy Rusu - Treasurer, Jennifer
Lynch - Secretary, Rachilla Basista - Historian, Donna Orbin & Jessy Berg - Trustees.
We meet one Wednesday evening every month, except for December, at 6:30 in the SES cafeteria. Our meeting dates for this school year are as follows: September 14, October 5, November 2, January 4, February 1, March 7, April 18 and May 9. Memberships cost
only $5.00 and are payable by cash or checks made out to SES PTA. When you support PTA, you are supporting your kids and your school!
August/September: PTA volunteers staff snack table & membership table for Open House and assist with Kindergarten Orientation.
October: PTA Cookie Dough/Popcorn Sale begins the 24th and runs through November 7th; PTA provides volunteers for the Mobile Dentist program on the 25th and 26th; PTA volunteers distribute water to classes for Fall Fest Parade on the 28th.
November: Cookie Dough/Popcorn pick-up staffed by PTA volunteers on the 29th.
December: PTA Santa Shop 5th - 9th. PTA volunteers set up the shop, keep tables stocked each day and help kids as they shop for family members.
February: PTA Scholastic Book Fair 13th -16th. Volunteers will be needed for the daytime as well as the evening of the 16th during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Proceeds from the Book Fair will be used to purchase items to benefit our students and teachers.
Raffle tickets will be sold on conference night for the basket raffle that will be held during our PTA Carnival.
April: PTA Carnival on the 5th. Join us for food, games, shows and prizes. Purchase tickets to win a basket made by the classrooms or a bike donated by the PTA. Volunteers will be needed to help with preparation, set-up, games & activities, snack
sales, raffle ticket sales and clean-up.
May: PTA Outdoor Days ~ Kindergarten - 23rd, 1st & 2nd - 24th, 3rd & 4th - 25th. Volunteers will be needed to help run games and activities for the students to celebrate the end of the year.
All volunteers must have a BCI check. Contact the office for details if you still need yours. If your BCI check is already on file from a past year, you still need to turn in a blue volunteer form. This is a new form, available at the office, that must be
signed and returned before volunteering.
PTA also sponsors "Dress Down Days." Students pay .50 cents to get to wear special items that day and all money raised is used to support our school. Hat Day is November 22nd. Pajama Day is December 22nd. Mix-Match Day is January 13th. Spirit Day is February
16th. Beach Day is April 5th. Watch for details to come home before each day.
