Medicaid Funding
The Medicaid Program now allows Struthers City Schools to receive Medicaid funding for eligible services provided to students with disabilities. The eligible services covered in school districts include occupational and physical therapy, speech/language therapy, audiology, nursing, school psychology, and counselor and social work services. This program is known as the Ohio Medicaid School Program (OMSP) and the Struthers City Schools is a designated health care provider under this program.
Struthers accepts referrals, screens and identifies, or screens and reassesses students who perform or show potential for performing at high levels of accomplishment in the areas of superior cognitive ability, specific academic ability, creative thinking ability, and/or visual and/or performing arts. To refer a child, please download and return the Gifted Referral Form.
The Struthers City School District serves several English Language Learners through tutoring services, computer based instruction and differentiated classroom instruction. Support is provided through collaboration between general education teachers and a tutor to support English language learning. Struthers City Schools is a member of the Title III Consortium of the Mahoning County Educational Service Center.
