The Struthers City School District hosted their annual Senior Citizen Picnic on Wednesday, August 4 at Mauthe Park.
More than 165 community members dined at the event, which is sponsored by the Struthers Board of Education.
The boys' basketball team, administration, and volunteers served the meal, prepared by the Struthers foodservice team. The school's custodial staff also helped with the event. Giannios Candy provided a generous contribution toward the dinner as well.
“It’s a way for us to remain connected with and to thank the senior citizens in our community for their continued support of our schools, staff, and students,” says Pete Pirone, Superintendent of Struthers City Schools. “This past year and a half has been unique and challenging in so many aspects, so this picnic was a wonderful opportunity to see these individuals and show our appreciation for their continued support of our district.”
