Struthers Students Send Toys, Cards to Akron Children’s Patients

SMS Toy Drive

April 15, 2022

Struthers Middle School Student Council continued the tradition of holiday generosity with their Easter Toy Drive for the second year.

Middle school students collected nearly nine boxes full of toys, coloring books/supplies, puzzles, board games, and stuffed animals for patients at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley. Students and staff also contributed more than $200 to provide additional items for donation.

Struthers Elementary classes joined the project by coloring Easter cards to spread holiday cheer to children admitted to the hospital over the holiday weekend.

“We surpassed last year’s amount of toys donated,” announced John Pascarella, the Struthers Middle School Student Council advisor. “I cannot thank everyone enough for making this toy drive such a success.”
