School Board Recognition Month

January 6, 2021

Struthers City Schools honors the Struthers Board of Education in January as it joins the School Board Recognition Month celebration.

The Struthers Board of Education is comprised of five community members who are dedicated to ensuring that our schools provide the best education possible for the children of our community. The current members of the Struthers Board of Education are Mr. Robert W. Noble (President), Mrs. Mary Carcelli (Vice-President), Mr. Walter Baber, Mr. Patrick Bundy, and Mr. Ronald Shives.

“The board is instrumental in vital decisions for our district,” says Superintendent Pete Pirone. “From curriculum and educational policies to the facilities and the dress code, our board members provide valuable community representation in the operation of our schools.”

School board members are individuals elected by the community to establish policies that provide the framework for Struthers City Schools. They add diverse experience and knowledge to the local decision-making process for our schools. Board members also bring local values, offer an understanding of the community culture, and provide a vision for the future to guide the direction for nearly every aspect of our district.

“The current climate provides a lot of challenges for schools, students, and educators – and our board has been instrumental in navigating through these obstacles and coming out ahead,” says Pirone. “We thank these board members for their dedication and commitment to the success of our students, support of our staff, and goals for the future of our district.”
