SMS Newsletter

PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Communication between the school and home is important to help each child succeed.  SMS primarily uses Google Classroom to support teaching and learning, but we will also post important messages on Facebook and the school website.

In addition to that, we also have a Struthers City School District App, that can be found at the App store.  Type in Struthers City Schools and download the app.  The App is an excellent way to stay current on events and happenings at Struthers Middle School.

Professionally,
Mr. Vecchione, Principal
Mr. Gelonese, Assistant Principal

CAREER DAY – YES

Career day will be held for seventh- and eighth-grade students on Monday, November 21.  We have partnered with Junior Achievement for a program titled Your Economic Success – YES.   The YES program provides an opportunity for students to begin discovering the choices that lie ahead.  By combining career exploration and financial responsibility, Junior Achievement connects the importance of education to students’ future economic success.

The 7th & 8th grade programs provide practical information about preparing for the working world while still in middle school.  Some of the topics that will be discussed include; developing a personal brand, career mapping, job-hunting tools, work ethics and professionalism.
