SMS October 2022 Newsletter

PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

We want to thank all parents, students and staff for an outstanding beginning to the 2022-2023 school year.  We hope that everyone is taking advantage of our 1 to 1 Chromebook program.  The middle school volleyball and football teams all have played competitive games, and are improving as the season progresses.

At SMS we believe the performance of the school rises or falls on behavior. We expect all of our students to live "Above the Line" in everything they do.  Above the Line behaviors are conscious and thoughtful - a choice made in alignment with one's goals. They are also intentional and skillful behaviors that must be taught and learned.

Below the line behaviors are impulsive, resistant, little effort or skill and are comfortable and convenient. Below the line behaviors are characterized by the following actions: blaming others, complaining about circumstances, and defending one's self.

Professionally,
Mr. Vecchione, Principal
Mr. Gelonese, Assistant Principal
