Struthers Elementary School

2018-19 Welcome Back Newsletter

Welcome Back! We are excited to begin the 2018-2019 School Year! We promise this year will be filled with incredible opportunities for all of our students as we continue to strive to find new ways to make Struthers Elementary the best that it can be. Our pledge to you, our students and parents, is that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful and rigorous work, combined with special events, field trips and parent/child nights to ensure our students, parents and community are involved and stay connected.

During the 2018-2019 school year, we will continue to build upon and improve our proven foundation of hard work, honored traditions, and continued excellence in education. The SES staff of highly qualified professional educators and support personnel is committed to providing the students with many hands-on and collaborative opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. We encourage parents to work in partnership with us to ensure that all students receive the best education. We are looking forward to a very positive and productive year together! We encourage you to join us during school activities and events whenever possible.

We encourage you to join our PTA, become an active member of our volunteer group, and participate in all of the academic events that we host throughout the school year. We want . . . we need . . . and we value your involvement and support in your child’s education! SES highly values the home/school communication and encourages our staff and parents to develop a routine communication system. It is vital and plays an important role in each student’s success. We encourage you to contact us if/when the need arises, and to stay in the know about your child’s assignments, assessments, and school activities, as well as other events and happenings.

Please, take a few minutes to review the important medical requirements, school times, handbook highlights and cafeteria news. For additional reminders and back to school information, download and review the 2018-19 Welcome Back Newsletter. Again, we welcome you to another year at Struthers Elementary and here’s to an AWESOME new school year as we work together to make our school a great place to work and learn each day!

The Struthers City School District in cooperation with family and a community founded on tradition, recognize our role as a catalyst for change to enhance student achievement and develop good character as we create appropriate academic, technological, and vocational opportunities for all students.

Based on the needs of our students, we are dedicated to providing a diversified, integrated, and flexible curriculum that develops independent and responsible citizens capable of making critical decisions.

As a primary partner in providing educational leadership, we will create links with family, business, and community agencies to ensure the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
