Struthers Middle School Joins “Making Middle Grades Work” Network

Struthers Middle Schools is joining an education network to build a culture of high expectations. Struthers Middle School is now a part of the High Schools That Work (HSTW) NE Ohio Region as a new Making Middle Grades Work (MMGW) school. MMGW schools set measurable goals to raise student achievement by preparing students for rigorous academics and career studies.

Making Middle Grades Work can schools can be provided with staff development, grants, and technical assistance. The Ohio Department of Education has supported HSTW and MMGW schools since 2000.
SMS is one of 28 MMGW sites in northeast Ohio, and one of 138 in Ohio.
